Yoga Anatomy
Teacher: Paul Grilley
Class Code: TTPG
To analyze why a yoga student can or cannot do a posture we must learn to look past the surface of the body to see it as a moving skeleton. Learning to identify which joints are involved in a yoga posture and determining their ranges of motion is essential if we are to understand why every person practices poses differently. These yoga anatomy workshops are a fun and enlightening way to learn how yoga poses work and why each of us practice yoga in our own unique way.

Foundations of Teaching Yoga
Teacher: Eddie & Nicki
Class Code: TTMD
Using the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali as a guide, we will explore the facets of the highly diversified system of Hatha Yoga in this course specifically designed for teachers and those students who are deeply interested. This dynamic two-day immersion will be a journey into the self, where all true teaching emerges from. Since yoga is simply the study of the self, Hatha yoga uses the physical body as the entry way to the more subtle layers of our being. This science of yoga uses precise postures called Asanas and controlled breathing techniques called pranayama to bring the Physical body into Union with the Emotional, Spiritual, and Higher bodies. We will detail the poses of suryanamaskar (sun salutations), basic standing poses, headstand and shoulderstand, Eddie and Nicki's infamous "lunge sequence" and backbends. There will also be an introduction to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali with some chanting involved. There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion concerning teaching. Please bring two blankets and a yoga belt in addition to any other props you may use.
